Saving Harrogate and Knaresborough's Post Offices

However this good news was delivered alongside the unfortunate announcment that Aspin Lane Post Office in Knaresborough would now be threatened with closure. Commenting on the decision Mr Willis said: "I am angry Aspin Lane Post Office should now be put forward for closure. I cannot believe Post Office Ltd should even think of this." A campaign has already begun to save Aspin Lane Post Office. --- On Wednesday 9th and Monday 14th Phil Willis delivered two petitions to the House of Commons against the closure of the post offices on Cold Bath Road, High Harrogate, Leeds Road and Stockwell in Knaresborugh. The total number of signatures collected was well over 10,000 which makes it one of the most successful campaigns in the country. These four closures come despite seven local post offices having closed down over the last four years. The four branches under threat are: Cold Bath Road Post Office, 109 Cold Bath Road, Harrogate High Harrogate Post Office, 19 Devonshire Place, Harrogate Leeds Road Post Office, 11 Leeds Road, Harrogate Stockwell Post Office, 2 Chain Lane, Knaresborough To join the campaign to save our local post offices, download the petition from the link above.
