Innovation, Universities and Skills Select Committee Phil Willis is the Chair of the House of Commons Innovation, Universities and Skills Select Committee
The Committee, comprising 14 cross-Party members, meet at least once a week to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills and its associated public bodies. This includes the Office of Science and Innovation which was previously within the Department of Trade and Industry. The Committee was formed on 6th November 2007 after the Education and Skills Committee was disbanded in order to form the Select Committee for Children, Schools and Famillies and the Select Committee for Innovation, Universities and Skills. Each will scrutinise their respective governmental department.
